This book breaks all the rules and cliches. It's so different. I was so invested in the story that I couldn't think about anything else. It's all so wrong but just so... addicting. I'm really impressed with the series, so I'm moving on the Ricochet right this second. I highly recommend this when your looking for a read that's a little sour. Think of Warheads. They're always super sour at first, but so sweet once the sour wears off. How's that for a comparison?? Lol :)
"Strip your bed, throw the sheets in the washer, and hide all your porn. I'll lock up the booze."
This story took all my expectations and crumpled them up like a rejected paper airplane. But that's okay because it gave me a brand new, shiny jet to fly instead. I live for the adrenaline rush of a good book. Addicted to You had it! I've been rummaging for that feeling through tons of books for months now; finally, it came out of nowhere!
I was completely lost in this book. In the characters. In their story. I lost track of time. I'm still caught up in their life. They have me. I love it when a book steals me away. I expected it to be full of sex because of the synopsis, but it was so much more than that. I found that very refreshing. Sometimes stories lose track of the
story because they are so caught up in the sex. For me, sex is just plain aggravating when there is no build up, tension, or
story. The scenes weren't overly descriptive. They were perfect and didn't take away from the genuine emotion in the story.
"Then let me try," he says, his hand cupping my face. "Let me try to be enough for you."
Both characters are so damaged. Lo's addiction is something that I was more familiar with because it's a more prominent addiction. At times Lily's addiction was a little much. I wasn't sure if I understood her as much as I wanted to for awhile, but eventually I did. Plus, I'm reading Ricochet (the sequel novella) and it seems to be shining a little light on Lily's addiction and that's helping me understand her urges. It seems like both of these characters do everything to the extreme. They have their own addictions, but they are also addicted to each other. They love each other to the extreme.
"I want to love you more than I Iove this" --he waves his bottle -- "and I don't know how else to do it unless there's something to lose."
For a book that deals with such intense, controversial issues, I'm amazed at the emotion the authors were able to evoke out of me. When they're hurting, I'm hurting. It's incredible. Exactly what I look for in a book. Oh and the secondary characters are one of the best aspects. The fact that they are getting sequels makes me giddy. I can't wait and you should read this book and you should love this book and you should review this book and you should read the next book and then you should tell a friend about it. Keep the cycle going that gets books like this noticed!!
