Blog Tour Stop: Perfect Regret by A. Meredith Walters

Synopsis
Riley Walker makes all the right decisions and knows exactly where her life is headed.

Riley Walker does not make mistakes.

Riley Walker certainly doesn’t make spontaneous decisions.

But then Riley Walker gets dumped.

Spectacularly, gut-wrenching, stomp all over her heart dumped. And she is feeling more than a little angry. And a whole lot bitter. And suddenly the girl who has always done everything right feels like doing something completely wrong.

Garrett Bellows, lead guitarist for the local band, Generation Rejects, is going through life without a plan. Trying not to think past the next gig or the next party, he has worked hard to not become too attached to anyone or anything. So he is shocked to find himself drawn to the snarky girl with a chip on her shoulder. She pisses him off and puts him down. He knows she’s nothing more than a self-entitled college brat who thinks she’s better than the townie boy without a future.

Alcohol and a hefty dose of lust leads to a night both Riley and Garrett immediately regret. Her embarrassment, his pride and the weight of rumors and misconceptions convince Riley and Garrett that their one-time indiscretion will never be repeated. Particularly when their harshest critics are each other.

But how do you reconcile a head that wants to let go with a heart that keeps holding on?

And what happens when your biggest regret begins to seem almost perfect?

Excerpt
It’s all sort of ridiculous, right?” he asked, his voice soft and barely audible over the noise.  I squinted at him, feeling my beer goggles slip firmly in place.  Because right now, Garrett Bellows was perhaps the best looking guy I had ever seen.  Even when I was a hundred percent sober, I could sort of appreciate his looks.  There was nothing conventional about the guy who sat beside me.

He was the epitome of everything I chose to stay away from.  But right now, with him leaning into me, my heart still feeling the after effects of a world class bludgeoning, I forgot about why he bugged the shit out of me.

“What’s ridiculous?” I asked, clueless to his point, my nose filled with a scent that was at once unfamiliar but also absurdly tantalizing.  Garrett smelled like musk and man and it was a total turn on.

In point two seconds the twisty thread of undeniable attraction took hold.  I wasn’t expecting the way my hormones took over all rational thought.  This was new.  And at the moment, I kind of liked it.

My eyes were drooping a bit and I was having a hard time focusing on what he was saying.  Mostly because I was suddenly and inexplicably horny.

Garrett cocked his eyebrow at me; as though he were picking up on the crazy amount of pheromones I was suddenly slinging his way.  He looked amused but there was a heat in his eyes that I knew was for me alone.

He leaned in further until his lips were next to my ear and the warmth of his breath teased the hair at my neck.  “All of this.”  He gestured to the party around us.  “I get tired of it all, you know?  Sometimes I wish these people would just disappear.”

Review
In Perfect Regret, we meet Riley Walker, a straight laced college student who's just been dumped by her boyfriend, Damien. It was completely unexpected as she thought they were going to have a future together, so needless to say, she's devastated.

Her best friend and roommate, Maysie drags her out one night after work to a party at the lead guitarist of her boyfriend Jordan's band, Generation Rejects. The problem is that said guitarist is Garrett Bellows, the guy Riley loves to hate. He's a slacker, a smoker, a loser. He thinks she's uptight, bitchy, and not worth his time. After some playful banter and way too much to drink, Riley finds herself waking up from a night of drunken sex. And the guy in the bed next to her? Garrett Bellows.

Over time, the attraction between Riley and Garrett grows, leading to some really sweet and tender moments. I have to admit that I fell for Garret so quickly. Riley, however, wasn't having it. She fought her feelings with everything in her, because she couldn't admit to herself that she may have misjudged him.

Riley is a planner, with her life already perfectly mapped out. She's going to graduate, get a good job, find a perfect husband, and settle down with a nice, normal life. To Riley, Garrett doesn't fit into that plan in any way shape or form. How can he make her see that all the planning in the world means nothing when it comes to love?

I loved this book, mostly because I loved Garrett! He was as sinfully sexy as he was sweet when he wanted to be. He broke my heart a couple of times, and I wanted to shake Riley and tell her to go get her man! She frustrated the crap out of me, so I was glad when she finally came to her senses. I'd love to see where they are in the future.

Blog Tour Stop and Giveaway: Crossroads by Megan Keith

Crossroads (Finding My Way, book two)
Megan Keith
New Adult Contemporary Romance

Synopsis
Nick is about to head overseas on an adventure of a lifetime.  It’s what he has always wanted, to travel the world, to experience new cultures, see the places he’s dreamed of for so long.  He should be over the moon.  Instead, he’s been in a slump ever since he lost his friend Em.

Nick is a player, always has been.  The first time he ever wanted more from a girl he was shot down.  So now he’s left licking his wounds.  Emma made her choice and now Nick has to live with it.

Or does he?  When he finds out that Emma is single after all, will he fight for her?  Will he be able to convince her to give him a chance?  And if he does, what will happen when he leaves?

Nick has reached a crossroads in his life - the girl or the dream.  Seems like an easy choice when the girl of his dreams is Emma.  But what if she doesn’t see things the same way?

**Do not read if you have not read Finding My Way

Review
To be perfectly honest, I was really hesitant to read Crossroads. If you've read my Finding My Way review, you know that I was head over heels in love with Seth and was devastated at the end of that book.

That being said, Megan Keith did a good job showing how much better suited Emma and Nick were for each other. It was fun watching Nick fall for Emma when he'd always vowed to be a playboy. It was cute how he transformed from the bad boy player to the love struck boyfriend. There are some pretty awesome steamy scenes that had me needing a cold shower afterwards! Let's just say that Nick knows how to work it in the bedroom...and the kitchen.. He's definitely swoon worthy!

Crossroads is a great addition to the series, and I can finally admit that Seth and Emma didn't belong together. I feel a little bit better knowing that now and I can't wait for his book! All in all, this is a beautiful story about finding love when you least expect it and taking a chance to find a happiness that you never believed you could have.

Excerpt
The keys jiggle in the lock signalling Nick’s arrival and I adjust myself on the bed.  I can’t believe I’m doing this.  His footsteps become louder and my heart rate increases, my libido kicking in.  When Nick enters the room his eyes go wide and the sexy smirk that I love so much appears on his handsome face.  His dimples smile at me and I feel the pull to him coming directly from between my legs.

“Wow Em,” he says, his eyes wandering up and down my body.

I did exactly as he asked - I am dressed in nothing but my bikini.  I’m lying on my side with my head propped on my elbow, trying to look like a seductress.  By the heat in Nick’s gaze I’d say it’s working.  He puts his phone, keys and wallet on the tall chest of drawers, keeping his piercing blue eyes on me the whole time.  He kicks off his shoes and tugs his t-shirt over his head, tossing it to the floor.  My eyes lose focus on his face when that deliciously ripped torso of his is revealed.  I gawk unabashedly at his perfection as he stalks towards me.  When he reaches the side of the bed I sit up slightly.  His crotch is in perfect position near my face.  I reach for the button on his shorts.  Undoing his zipper slowly I look up at his face and lick my lips.  He groans which causes me to smile.  It makes me feel unbelievably powerful.

BLOG TOUR: Becoming More by Bayli Lane

At first it was all freedom, fun, and games for Lilly Fairfield. Being a freshman in college was supposed to create some of the best memories of her life, especially with her best friend, Lauren, and longtime boyfriend, Sander, by her side.

But the excitement begins to slip away when the people closest to her start to change. They begin moving in a direction Lilly doesn’t want to go, forcing Lilly to be faced with a decision. Should she fight for her relationships with both Sander and Lauren or move on to something different? Something unknown. Someone like…

Colton Davenport. Colton isn’t Lilly’s typical type. He's shockingly sexy with his colorful tattoos, shiny silver lip ring, and ear gauges. His smile alone leaves her breathless. Then again, she hasn’t had a specific type other than Sander. When she meets Colton she feels an automatic attraction that stuns her into utter stillness. She can’t look away, doesn’t want to look away.

Lilly must decide between a life with Sander, a life she always thought she wanted, and an unknown path with Colton.

Will Lilly make the right choices for her future, Becoming More?

**This book is a New Adult Romance - intended for a mature audience.**

REVIEW:

*sigh* Growing pains. As annoying as the Lilly may have seemed for a little while due to her inability to let go... it's classic.  We all grow up and have trouble letting go of what once was. The thing is, things change and sometimes you have to let go because what you're hanging onto is just a memory and not what actually is anymore. What a harsh reality :-/.  It's tough growing into who you are and who you are meant to be. It's tough becoming more

You'll hate Sander. Your heart will hurt for Lilly. You will want her to become more. Who better to help her do that than a tatted up, sexy guy named Colton? No one! If you're looking for a HEA, Becoming More delivers. It's tough seeing such a sweet girl be treated so harshly by the two people she cares a lot about, but it's also bittersweet because you get to see her learn that people change... sometimes for the better and sometimes for the worse. Either way, the world keeps spinning and it may just spin you right to what you've been looking for!  This is a wonderful debut novel from Bayli Lane. She'll make you love and hurt for her characters. I can't wait to read more of her work.

EXCERPT

Prologue:

“Sander, I have to get home or my parents are going to kill me! I’m late!” I exclaim.

Sander chuckles as he continues kissing down my neck, leaning over the console in his car.

He pulls away and glances at me with sparkling eyes. “Baby girl, we leave for college tomorrow. What are they going to do? Ground you from what? You won’t even be living at home.”

I giggle and ignore the gnawing guilt in the pit of my stomach for not being home on time.

He places his lips against mine. Our mouths begin to move together slowly, passionately.

“I love you,” he whispers against my lips.

“I love you, too,” I say back and then kiss him again.

“College is going to be the best thing that’s ever happened for us. We won’t have to rush back home. I’ll get to hold you all night long. I can see you whenever I want,” Sander says thoughtfully.

“More sex is what you really want to say,” I chastise but smile.

“That too,” he agrees nodding his head up and down.

“Tell me that we’ll be okay, Sander,” I plead.

He smiles at me lovingly and cradles my head in his hands. He looks me deeply in the eyes. “Lilly, baby, we’re going to be even better than we are now. I’m going to get my degree, work for my dad… Then I’m going to buy you a ring and make you my wife. College is the first step in making everything we’ve ever wanted a reality.”

“Promise?” I ask.

“I swear. Nothing could ever change the way that I love you, Lilly. Nothing,” he says with conviction.

Bayli lives with her husband, Tim, in Indiana where she is probably sitting with a large cup of coffee and her computer working on her next book.

BLOG TOUR: Everything For Us (Bad Boy's #3) by M. Leighton

When it comes to passion this hot, it’s all or nothing.

Olivia Townsend’s wealthy cousin Marissa had everything a girl could ask for—a great job, a privileged life, and all the friends she wanted. Or, at least, all the friends money could buy. But one case of mistaken identity has turned her privileged world upside down.

An abduction gone wrong lands her right in the lap of the sexiest, most dangerous man she’s ever met. To Marissa, he’s an enigma, but one to whom she’s irresistibly, inexplicably drawn.

With him comes a new world of freedom and passion, of dark shadows and dangerous secrets, a world where nothing is what it seems—except for the blind passion that Marissa can’t escape—or maybe even survive.

Review:

I looooovee this series!  I have been itching to get my hands on this book for what seems like forever. The previous book in the Bad Boy's series left me with a lot of questions about our mysterious, bad boy Nash. I wanted to know what made him tick. He seemed so angry. He had good reason, but was he really that angry? Or was he using that hard shell as a cover? HE WAS REALLY THAT ANGRY. Nash is bitter and out for revenge. He's seeing with tunnel vision and revenge is in his sights. He's angry with the situation, he's envious of his brother...he is angry.

Here's the reason I was worried about this book -- Marissa. I didn't like her in the other books. Not even a little bit. In fact, I didn't even feel that bad for her when she was kidnapped. I tried, I really did; I may have felt a little bit of pity for a little while, but I really just didn't like her. I didn't like that she had a history with Cash. I realize this is misplaced jealousy, but whatever... I didn't like it. AND I didn't like her. So, when I found out she was getting her own book, I was a little concerned. I should have known better. M. Leighton always knows what to do to win me over. Marissa is a whole new person in this book. I guess when you get kidnapped it kind of puts everything into perspective and may make you change your ways.

Nash isn't looking for anything serious; he makes that clear. Marissa knows that Nash is in it for one thing and one thing only, but she feels a pull to him. The question is whether or not Marissa can wiggle her way into Nash's sights in the midst of his quest for revenge. Will she get burned again by another bad boy? I'm not telling....nanananabooboo!

M. Leighton is one of my favorite authors out there. Her writing is fun and catchy. It's always a joy to read one of her stories, but I'll always love the Bad Boys the most!

I LOVE THIS SERIES!!
