Please excuse me while I take a break to wipe my eyes because I'm laughing so hard that I can't stop crying. Seriously, y'all, Tara Sivec is a comedic genius and I can't get enough of her characters! In Love and Lists we get to know older, sexier, completely grown up and still as hysterical Gavin Ellis.

-You're also probably wondering how in the hell I can possibly be twenty-five years old when just yesterday I was four. I know, it's a tough pill to swallow. I'm not a foul-mouthed, cute little kid anymore. I'm now a foul-mouthed, cute adult. I take after my parents, so obviously I'm good looking. -

Even better, he's in love, but he can't bring himself to admit it to the woman he loves, who just so happens to be one of his best friends, Charlotte. Being the child of Carter and Claire, it's only natural for laugh out loud events to unfold as he tries to woo the girl of his dreams.

-"Yes, and you used to stand up in the middle of the tub and say, 'Hey, Charlotte, look at my big wiener!' I hope that's not what your next plan of attack is," ~Claire-

See!! I could go on and on for days about this book, but I want you to read it for yourself so you can experience the magic that Tara brings to the table. And when you're done, report back to me and tell what you thought about a certain kitchen scene. A scene that had me laughing so hysterically that I almost woke my husband up from shaking the bed with my laughs. We also get the pleasure of seeing the whole gang again, Claire, Carter, Jim, Liz, Drew, and crazy ass Jenny. You also get to meet Gavin's hilarious Bronie (awesome!) best friend Tyler and Charlie's spitfire younger sister, Ava.

There were also some super steamy scenes that I loved! Gavin is smokin' in the bedroom and I loved every single second of it!

So what are you waiting for?! Get to one-clicking, but don't blame me when you're abs are sore from copious amounts of laughter!!

I washed up and had just enough time to tug on a clean tank and thong and then climbed back into bed. I heard his footsteps. Excitement and relief washed through me. A small part of me feared he might have changed his mind, but my insecurity vanished the second his chiseled face appeared from the darkness.

His shirt hung open. He folded his arms across his chest and casually leaned against the wall, studying me like the MRI images he methodically memorized before each surgery.

“You moved?” His lips parted into a half grin, and he shook his head disapprovingly.

“You took too long.”

“You put clothes on.”

“You might need some new clothes.” I smiled.

“You’re fucking beautiful.”

About the Authors

Yep. That's an “s.” There are two of us! We’re East coast girls separated by Long Island Sound who met in Physician Assistant School and have been besties ever since. We can safely say that thirteen miles of water does not get in the way because we talk or text, no exaggeration, at least 150 times a day. No, really, we do—about everything and nothing. Shockingly, we never (we mean never) run out of things to say. Umm, ever. We definitely laugh A LOT and we’re a tad sarcastic. And if we’re being totally honest, one or two people might have, on occasion, used our names and ‘dramatic’ in the same sentence. But it’s hard to trust the sources since they married us.

It only took twelve years, two husbands, five kids, two dogs, and a two-week vacation in Cape Cod later to decide the romance world needed a splash of medicine. Write what you know. So you can easily find us at 4 o'clock on Bank Street beach with a glass of cold Prosecco brainstorming. And guaranteed if we bump into you, literally, it’s only because our iPhones are glued to our hands (totally out of our control) either writing or editing our next novel (and yes, it is possible to do from your iPhone, we mastered it … damn those straight quotations).

When we are not working on our book or reading the latest angsty romance on our kindles, you basically name it and we have it going on. Soccer, lacrosse, golf, swimming, dance, gymnastics, football, chess, baseball, basketball, skiing, ice skating, school, homework, and more school. Oh yeah, did we forget to mention our careers in medicine?

Needless to say, we realized fast that something had to go, so we opted for sleep. It’s completely overrated (yet so AMAZING) and delirium makes everything funnier. Good thing we share a brain and can pretty much complete each other’s sentences (definitely weird, we know), otherwise it might have taken us two years to write Beautifully Awake rather than one.

I found it really difficult to put into words just how deeply I loved this book. It's been days since I read it, and I still cannot get it off of my mind.

Harley's home life was terrible, to say the least. An abusive father? Check. An enabling, apologist mother? Check. Younger sister to protect? Yep, we have that, too. Incredible, swoon-worthy protective best friend of the opposite gender? Oh yeah, Miah fills that role quite well. Jeremiah and Harley have been best friends since childhood. He was her first kiss, her first love, her first everything.

After high school graduation and one last beautiful night with Miah, Harley left her town and her abusive father behind, while Miah went off to join the military. Neither of them really knew where they were going, or when they'd see each other again.

Throughout the course of the book we travel with Harley as she goes from town to town, working various jobs and investing in various relationships. She keeps in close contact with her family, so we continue to learn about what's happening at home, as well. Several times Harley finds herself back in Georgia, PA, straight back into the family drama she tried to leave behind.

And then there's Miah. I swear, Miah had the patience of a saint. He always knew that Harley was it for him, and he was just waiting for her to stop running.

Overall, this story resonated within me. I cried, laughed, and found myself contemplating the various situations throughout Harley's journey. I'll remember this story for a long time, and would recommend it to anyone. I'm going to re-read time and time again, because this is a book that deserves more than one pass. And now I'm even more excited to read Kat's story!

Review: Girl on Tour by Caisey Quinn

Just a little tidbit of information: before I started Girl on Tour, Caisey Quinn agreed to pay for my booze and/or therapy that I may need because of this book. Granted, my heart was in a pretty fragile place at that time, but even so, I thought to myself “Oh, I’ll be fine. I can handle it.” Well, Caisey love, I was wrong and it’s time to pay the piper. I’ll cut you a deal and save you money on the therapy, but I suggest shoving a bunch of booze in a box and shipping it my way…because I need it.

Girl on Tour is the sequel to Caisey’s debut novel, Girl with Guitar, and is every bit as fantastic. This novel follows both Kylie and Trace’s separate tours as they struggle to find time together and are forced to deal with love in the limelight. Tabloids, rumors, misinterpreted pictures, old flings, and hard-to-kick habits are all standing by in the wings just waiting to light their relationship on fire and watch it go down in flames. Kylie and Trace try to beat the odds stacked against them, but their paths may not be going the same way like they planned; they may just be going in exact opposite directions. 

This story did a number on me. I love Kylie and Trace, and watching them struggle to balance their careers and their relationship was tough. There is so much love between these two that you just want to reach into the book and shake some sense into them! BUT...even though they had their fair share of problems, there was also a lot of steam and sexiness and adorableness and just plain love between these two amazing characters. 

I loved the incorporation of the other secondary characters, like Kylie's tour mates, Lily Taite and Mia Montgomery, and Trace's co-headliner, Gretchen Gibson. The relationships between them added the elements of friendship, tension, and compassion to the story and took it from good to great. 

Right about now you're probably wondering why I needed alcohol after finishing this book when I've had nothing but good things to say about it. Well, let me tell you why. Because this isn't a happily ever after. It's rough. Some parts will break your heart. But the only thing holding me together is knowing that this isn't the end of Kylie and Trace's story. So even though my fragile heart endured more than it could handle, I absolutely, positively adored this book. 

PS - Caisey, you might as well just send an ARC of Girl in Love along with my box of booze to, you know, help calm my nerves and heal my heart ;)
